Well i can view my PDFs easily, i read a lot of mangas on my kindle DXG, i can choose a big font and still do less page turns. These are the advantages.
Though there isn't a kindle lighted cover as in kindle 3 so i use my bedside reading lamp. this and the the less portability are the only disadvantages i can think of.
Yes of course you can see the pictures in .azw books but the quality won't be great because as far as i know amazon doesn't let a higher resolution picture for kindle DX so the same picture for kindle 3 will be stretched resulting in loss of quality.
Amazon charges for 3g book delivery via e-mail but if you enable personal documents and disable amazon whispernet 3g delivery you can send your books via 3g from amazon page without a fee.

Okay I just checked and the amazon whispernet 3G delivery is off by default. I have gone into personal documents and sent several books to the DX. So when I get the DX Wednesday and turn on my 3G hopefully they will be transferred. Dumb question, but if you turn off 3G delivery will it still work?
Do you have a protective cover for your DX?
When I tried to modify the Kindle 3 with just screensavers I never got that to work. Not sure if I am brave enough to try modifying the DX. Where are there good instructions for this? Maybe that is why I never got the mods to work on the Kindle 3.
