Well, I bought a Kindle DXG after all. A friend is going back to Canada for Christmas so I ordered one from Amazon and had it shipped to her place. I was not going to bother after reading all the comments about the old firmware but once I discovered the hacks, I decided to get it. Hopefully it won't be too difficult to upgrade. Can't wait until January, when she comes back to China.
