Yup, calibre allows for 2 decimal places. If the novella actually fit between, say, the official #1 and #2 then you should probably assign it [1.5].

I've used this for some short stories that were later combined into the first novel in a series. The novel would be listed as [1] and I've entered the short stories as [0.1] and [0.2] since their publication preceded the novel.
