Hmmm, I guess it could happen that way, but I wouldn't expect it to. If the entire library was compromised every time, then a directory problem makes sense. However, often the problem is that only the file I am reading is corrupted. Since I read different files located throughout my 400+ library I'm not sure a directory issue really works. Remember we are talking about a hardware problem hear, since I have reformatted the SD card between each problem.
Anyway, to believe the problem is in the directory, we must believe that a different part of the directory fails for each book, and that it just so happens to affect the book I am reading.
It makes much more sense to think of something in the Cybook hardware or software that has an error. The Cybook would naturally access the directory on the SD card in order to read the card. If there is a problem with the Cybook H/W or S/W, then it would be natural to think that it could be corrupting the directory location for the book that it is retrieving.
The punch line; however; is that I tried this with a new SD card and I had another failure. I do believe the problem lies with the Bookeen H/W or S/W as it accesses the SD card.
thx,
Michael
