As anybody who has ever read the wonderful lady's books can probably tell by my username I am extremely sad right now.

I never met Anne but have had many long and interesting conversations with her via email over the years, she was a joy to talk to always interested in hearing your points of view even if they didn't always coincide with her own.

I've read and re-read her books so many times over the years I probably know them off by heart. Favourites would have to be The Dragonsong Trilogy (Cause they were the first of her books I read and gripped me with her characterisation), the Crystal Singer Trilogy (I remember when the last book came out, totally unexpected because there was such a long time after the second one that I don't think anybody thought it was a trilogy, I bought the Hardcover because I didn't want to wait for the paperback, took it home and read it in one sitting ) and The Tower and the Hive series.

You will be sadly missed RIP Anne McCaffrey.
