Kindle Touch image sizes
I was trying to resize images for the touch, and all of the directions I could find were for kindle 2 or kindle dx, and the kindle touch doesn't have a header. So a bit of work with the gimp and a text editor and I got the attached mobi files.
With this it is pretty clear that the ideal image size for .mobi on the kindle touch is 520x740 (for the vertical testing remember to tap to clear the initial 20px header that stays when you open). In particular the recommended 522px widths I saw elsewhere will get your images rescaled.
