I seriously crank when I'm reading on my Kindle. I go through two or three times as many books. I've attributed it to the following:
1) I only see one page at a time (I get distracted easily, and find my gaze wandering all over two pages)
2) I am reading more fiction than non-fiction on the Kindle; I read that faster naturally.
3) I read more often--it's nice to have hundreds of books loaded and ready to go whenever I'm faced with a break I didn't anticipate
