From what I've seen.... The hype for Call of Duty tends to far outweigh everything else. I have a friend who is hopelessly addicted to Modern Warfare and continually asks me to get it so I can play with him. And, as soon as they announce their next Modern Warfare sequel (which will probably include a few incremental upgrades), Jon will be all giddy as a school-girl in anticipation for its release.

Heck, I'm still stuck on World at War. I'm just not that into shooters, really.
