Because people with a Fire probably won't see it (as they will look in the Amazon forum) and people with a Nook device won't see it (as they will look in the B&N forum) and people with a Vox device won't see it (as they will look in the Kobo forum).
And I won't see either of those fora because most of the threads there I've absolutely no interest in.

The problem is, a post like that fits several categories. And thus should be posted in the various fora. However you organize a forum, there'll always be something that doesn't work as well. I think the root of the problem is that the organization is based upon manufacturer instead of type.
