The agreement allows Amazon to terminate Whispernet completely at any time and also to charge for "free" Wikipedia.org access, but so far they have not done so (obviously). Like all such agreements, it allows Amazon to screw with its customers if they want to, but usually what actually happens is much more benign that what could happen.

I agree that the current free unlimited access isn't likely to last if many Kindle users actually use it heavily, and it would be reasonable for Amazon to institute charges for general web access.
