I just had the exact same thing happen to me. On the one hand, nice of Sony to make their products last a few years. On the other hand, did those buggers really have to make one small but vital part of it out of cheap plastic that would snap just as the warranty was over?

Anyhow, the sites you mentioned that sell replacement parts unfortunately do not ship outside the US. Does anyone know where to find a good-fitting replacement stylus for the PRS-600, that's shippable to Europe?
