I have read all of Michael Connelly's books. If you like him you will also probably like Stephen J Cannell's Shane Scully. Scully is a married Harry Bosch. Another very good author is Steve Hamilton. His Alex McKnight character is an ex Detroit cop who moves to Paradise, MI in the U.P. and tries in vain to not do any investigating.
