OK, it's rooted, NOW WHAT?
Today, I followed the instructions and rooted my nook color. That part went fine as near as I can tell. Used the instructions from the "Flavors of Daylight" and ended up with Cyanogen 7.
Added cm_encore_full-253.zip
and gapps-gb-20110828-signed.zip
for the other pieces.... Stuff APPEARED to install OK.
BUT, what do I do now? This thing looks like some bizarre refugee from an android phone. It has a phone icon on the home page, contacts, car home, camera and so on on the whatever-page-it-is that has all the icons on it, and so on. Is this the way it's supposed to look or do I have some kind of goofy installation?
I can't even find the setting to get rid of the android wallpaper on the home page.
I got out to the Android Market and downloaded Dolphin Browser HD, and, in theory, it installed fine, but when I select that icon, I just get a blank, white screen.......
Is there a topic SOMEWHERE here that provides clear, unambiguous, idiot-proof information on how to set the NC up once it has Android so it'll work as a bookreader, get rid of all the phone stuff (presuming it's actually a legitimate part of the installation), and get the browsers and all the other stuff that just keeps popping up "<xxx> isn't working" and lets me either "Force exit" or "Wait"...
I'll admit I'm quite ignorant about Android, but this doesn't seem quite normal.
