It is too expensive for all but "early adopters", agreed. But then, we don't know how much does it cost to manufacture, especially considering relatively small volume.

Uhm, what? Screen ratio is actually perfect for a tablet. It allows you to browse sites that are made for wider screens (1280) narrower screens (800, actually with opera mobile you can have text perfectly matching screen width both ways on absolute majority of sites) and actually enjoy watching normal, wide format video,
unlike with ipad.
I'd understand some refuse to buy it because it is not quite like an ipad.

I was choosing between Sony S1 and Samsung Galaxy Tab. Sony had very intersting feature of serving as a remote control, SD card slot and more ergonomic shape, but cheaper plastic feel and 3G version is too expensive, so in the end I've decided for Samsung, rumoured to have best tablet screen ever released so far and ended never actually using 3G, thanks to tethering.
