Good choice, Ripplinger, and nice job on the smooth application of the skin. Nice photograph as well.

I thought about that one, too. The reason I chose the Indigo was because the pattern was subtle enough to be ignored but pronounced enough to offset any difference in color. I also like the fact the indigo glows a bit.

I made a very conscious decision to avoid solid colors.

It's the brown-shoes-with-black-pants exception to that age-old fashion rule: The inevitable slight dissonances in color are minimized by careful distinctions in texture. That can also work with a black sports jacket and black dress pants cut from different fabrics.

(One could argue that a flat visual pattern is not really a texture, but I would counter that the point of these kinds of patterns is to create the illusion of texture.)

I took a similar approach with my other PRS-350, only this time, I matched a black woodgrain pattern to the black lining inside the blue case. You can see the effect of the pattern here:
