In French, you'd probably use "sociable, familier, intime, plaisant, confortable, douillet, agreable". The expression "Het is hier gezellig" would be translated as "on est bien ici" but I'm not sure it covers the entire meaning.

I've never been able to find a nice, single-word English translation for it.
