This isn't the case. I uploaded an MP4 to the video folder in my Cloud. I was able to access it from the Fire. I went to Amazon.com from the device and chose Amazon Cloud Drive / Your Cloud Drive from the left menu. Found the file, long pressed on it, and selected the Save Link option. It goes to your Downloads folder on the device. You get a notification at the top of the screen when the download is complete. A file explorer is needed to access the Downloads folder.

Yes, an app would be convenient, but you can get to your Cloud content rather easily. There's no misrepresentation.
