You are right, there is no fool-proof way of unbricking a 600.
Thus there is a two-step process to install PRS+
- using a so called base-flasher. While executing this, a minimal modified FW will be flashed. (This is the risky part, and had to be done only once)
- then using the PRS+ installer by copying the folder PRS+Installer to the IM, then do a complete shutdown and restart.
During the restart PRS+ files are copied into a non-visible internal partition and then parts of the (Linux) filesystem will be remounted. This way no flashing is necessary.
All updates are handled by executing step 2 again.
Please note, that as with the 505, there is a Safe-Mode. When starting up while connected to USB, PRS+ will not start.
