Free access at AT&T hot spots and free in-store reading. The page mechanism is very similar to real page numbers (although Kindle is creaping Real Page Numbers into some titles). Also, the Nook has support for quickly skimming through pages by holding down the page turn button.
Not really a software advantage, but it also has physical page turn buttons and support for a microSD card.
