One question about tags and collections:

I have tried to whittle down the number of tags on my books to create a smaller number of collections but many of the books I downloaded from Gutenberg came with a huge number of superfluous tags attached which I only later, over time, deleted. Now even though I have deleted those tags from the books in my Calibre library, some are still on the corresponding books on my device, and the Reader is using them to organize my books. Is there a way to make the metadata of the books on my device accord with the metadata of the same books in my Calibre library, without actually deleting all those books from the device and recopying them from the library?
