LOL, sorry if I'm coming out negative. I do like the Fire, but I went through this with K1. The one thing I like about Nook Color is you can set up book shelves for your series etc. Nook Color had this out the gate (even though it was flaky when using the SD card), I just figured Fire would have something like that. It was the biggest gripe with the K1..
Comparing it against my Nook color, I like the form factor of the Fire much better. Now my Nook Color is kind of Ugly, maybe I just like simple designs better.
Fire has a better screen. I compared the same open books, side by side and Nook Colors white have a yellow tint to them. Fire looks true white.
Back to the display, the text is also darker and sharper on the Fire when I look at the same books on the same settings side by side.
However, Nook Color's finger prints are hardly noticeable where as on the Fire its all I do notice when its laying on the table. Wow what a finger print magnet. I hate screen protectors but I might have to get one just for this. I can't even remember when the last time was I cleaned off my Nook color screen, the Fire screen I can see this is going to be a several times a day job.
Keyboard, I hate the keyboard on the Fire, I always make mistakes on it. The keyboard on the Nook Color is more spaced out or something because I can type on it much easier with very few errors.
Ecosystem, That one is no brainer, Amazon wins that hands down.
The screen doesn't always respond on my fire. It could be because of an App starting or something or not fully loaded, I'm not sure but I've had it several times. Nothing deal breaking though. Haven't noticed that on my Nook..
Screen glare, Fire has more of this then the Nook color.
I like Fire's home screen except I don't like every thing I do to show up on the home screen. Especially google search or my banks website. I rather put what I want on the carousel to show up and not my bodice ripper books. (I don't really care but I would like to put what I want there myself.)
Heat, Fire generates more. I haven't tested it long enough but you can feel some warmth on the back after streaming Pandora for a while. I don't feel that the NC, it stays cool..
I'm having a really hard time deciding if I will sell NC or send Kindle Fire back. I like it enough to keep it, I'm a Prime member, I have most of my things tied up in Amazon as far as books and Apple as far as music.. Its just nice to use Kindle natively and not through an App.
