Another thing that seems to help is I try to keep about 10% of the memory free. I have so far avoided an SD card with my 950, but I am going to need one soon. I agree that not all SD cards are equal. I remember that several years ago (2008? 2009?) Sony had a memory card recommendation guide - what sizes worked best despite what the allowable spec stated. It might have been for the 505.
