Not Oscar Wilde. It's from a short story, and I'll accept either the name of the short story, or the name of the collection in which it is found.

If no one has it by tomorrow, I'll fill in the xed-out name and that should at least point someone to the series. It won't point anyone to the book, however, because he's a recurring figure in the books.
