Christmas with my family means opening family gifts on Christmas Eve after a big early dinner. Dinner is early because I hate to wait to open gifts and give gifts and everyone knows it. If dinner gets pushed past four I get antsy and turn into a five year old.
Christmas Day is spent with the extended family. If little ones are there then Santa gifts are opened in the morning. Christmas dinner is served at a more reasonable hour because all the gifts have been given.
Up until I finished Graduate School, my Dad would wait for me to come home to go and buy the tree and then decorate it. Mom would always give us instructions on how big the tree could be and we would always ignore her and come home with something huge. Then we would have to go out and get more lights. It was a great tradition but moving away and getting a job that got me home a few days instead of a few weeks before Christmas killed it.
