The touch was in a 'Roots' leather sleeve but the point of impact was the top right corner. It bounced about a foot off the pavement and dropped onto its back.

I guess it's true what some have said "everything has at least one drop in it". My touch did. The worst of it was that in places the case came apart (slightly) and I was able to snap it back together again.

It seems it's no worse for the drop but time will tell. So far it's A-OK (but I'm not planning on dropping it again).
just once more. for science. recreate the conditions: height, floor material, bounce factor. Let us know.
