* ePub support
* an eink
* physical buttons for reading
* landscape mode for occasional pdfs

Another thing that I would enjoy prefer is extendable memory and audio playback (best if includes ogg format as well).

From what I've currently looked at I both liked and disliked the Kindle - good pdf support but no epub.
The Nook STR also looked nice if not for the weird memory - out of the 1gb only a quarter is available to books not from B&N?

Since I do not live in either US/UK, it is not an option for me to order a couple and just send them back afterwards, and so I cannot really try them out myself.

Any suggestions as to what might cover this the most?
256 MB memory for non-B&N books is enought for more than 250 books.
If you need more memory you can add an micro-SD card. An 8 GB micro-SD card will cost you only $10, and would store more than 8000 books.
