1) Make sure you don't have synchronization disabled in your Amazon account settings.

2) Make sure that in the settings/options for each of your Kindle Apps, you have the box checked that says; "Automatically back up your device annotations and last page read at Amazon."

3) Verify that when you say; "even books downloaded from Amazon," you mean virgin Amazon purchases (untouched by DRM removal software).

4) Verify that Amazon has indeed rolled out the "Personal Document Syncing" feature to all of the various Kindle apps. Last I heard, it was limited to standard Kindle devices and they "hoped" to roll it out to the Kindle Fire and all the various Kindle apps in the "coming months."

Can anyone out there testify that they can successfully synchronize (with Amazon's Personal Document Synchronization Services, not the calibre or mobi2mobi hack method) personal documents between reading apps (not Kindle to Kindle)?
