On any reader with its own database (Sony, Kobo, ...), you pretty much have to use the device's software to delete a book. That's the onlyeasy way to clean up the database, and make sure the new copy gets added properly. Kobo forgot that, for a while at least... The Sony T1 has it, thankfully. One the db is clean, you can just drag'n'drop the new books; the device finds them and adds them without problems.
