What flavor of windows are you using. When you connect your kindle to your computer , do you get a pop up menu asking what to do ? I ask because there are several ways too do this. If you know how to go to , computer or my computer and see the computer drives, you should see your kindle as a removable drive.

Click on the kindle drive icon so you can see the file systems, You will see a directory called" Documents" , that is where your kindles book files are kept.

You can copy or drag and drop your text or pdf files too the document directory on your kindle and they will now be on your kindle.

Hope I got that right, still low on my caffeine levels this morning!
