The only advantage of 3G not mentioned here is syncing across devices. If you read your wifi-only Kindle in an area without wifi, it won't sync with your phone, tablet, computer, car, pacemaker, etc. This is not a big deal if you only read on your Kindle, but if you switch devices, it's a pain if the aren't synced.

This was the primary reason I opted for the 3G.
