I stumbled a few months ago on this lovely piece of an Edison film from Morecambe in 1901. There are lots of charming things about it but the most pleasing to me were the children. If you go to Google Maps you can "travel" the same route along the promenade and when you get to the stone jetty there is now a war memorial with 162 names on the WWI section of it - just a few of the far too many British names lost. I wonder how many of those young boys were among them.
