1. Copy the entire Library Folder to safe place.
DVD/CD will cause the files to be READ ONLY. Zip (Make Compressed folder) first, then Save That Folder.
Goto Preferences: Misc. and click the "Open Calibre configuration directory" Button. Copy the entire contents to a New folder (calibre-settings) in your 'safe place'.
Note: any USER plugins will need to be re-installed. AFAIK there is no way around that.
To restore.
Copy the Saved Library folder to its new home (clear any 'Read only' status with explorer if from CD)
Instal Calibre, pointing it to the previously restored Library's location.
Caution: these steps assume that the
same version of Calibre and User Library paths are used from old to new.
Locate and open the Configuration settings folder. Quit Calibre, leaving the folder open.
Replace the contents with that saved in the backup (calibre-setings) folder.
2) To save your Catalog in Excel (CSV) format.
Use the arrow next to Convert.: Create catalog: select CSV
