From what I've read, Flash just wasn't great on mobile devices, period. It did work, after a fashion, which pleased the geeky set who could then say " See, Flash DOES work on mobile devices" , but didn't really give you a good user experience.
Let's just compliment Adobe for throwing in the towel and finally realizing that Flash wasn't for mobile. I look forward to what this great tech company will do with HTML 5
