I finally recieved an email from Kobo support this morning, stating that the delay was due to the black wifi model being out of stock. I was asked would a silver or grey model be ok?
so maybe they are starting to catch up?

Unfortunately we do not have any black eReaders in stock. Would she like a grey or silver replacement?
