They are brilliant glimpses into the southern Louisiana life style, both upper and lower crust. Burke's skill with descriptive phrases is almost frightening! Dave Robicheaux is a very troubled man, with serious history coloring his thinking, but a very good person. The stories are well thought out, well laid out, and usually throw the reader for a loop or two. I think you'll enjoy them if you like the police mystery genre.
