Yes this is a common issue - It will probably be fixed ina firmware release. I have solved mine by making sure all running apps are killed. It seems to be one of the built in apps that is cauing the issue. I found that globe2go and rdio would be running even though I don't use them. Once i cleaned up the running apps the sleep issue stopped for me.
Go to settings - Applications - Running services and see what is running. Kill the stuff you aren't using (or test by killing them all) and see if it solves the sleep issue.
