Sharp's Charlie Fox is a noir-ish heroine for the 21st century. Kicked out of the WRAC during advanced training for having an affair with an instructor, raped, humiliated and living on her own, just making ends meet, we meet Charlie in "Killer Instinct" at her lowest poing, teaching self-defense to other women for enough to scrape by. Charlie's a survivor. People who screw her or the people she cares about, not so much.
I was glad to see the remainder of the British editions come out in the US. Only "Killer Instinct" was out in the US. All the earlier books are now available as ebooks as well. 1-5 & "FOX FIVE" are very good quality, published by
http://www.murderati.com/ which seems to be a coop thing, $2.99 editions. No. 6's ebook version is obviously done by her US publisher, MacMillan, to thier usual poor standards and for $6.99. There is no mystery to why major publisers are poorly thought-of in the ebook world.
