There's an audio player in the menu, press the menu button at the home screen, it will be at the 2nd bottom. The files need to be placed in the DK_Documents\music iirc. I think it should support more than mp3, as it uses mplayer under the hood.
There is no real browser at the moment - it's a reader; It sounds like you're looking for a tablet rather than a reader, perhaps look at returning it and getting something that better fits your needs.
