CdnKiwi, is your device registered to the Kobo store or the Whitcoulls store? It cannot be registered to both.

You can still buy from both stores - however, you can only sync from one - which must be the one your device is registered with. To find out which device it is registered to, check out the affiliate.conf file on the device itself - it will probably say Whitcoulls

To buy from the other store, you use your Macbook with ADE/calibre and download the epub - instead of sync'ing using wifi.

When the devices went on sale in NZ Whitcoulls neglected to tell anyone that the devices were setup to sync to the Whitcoulls store - there were no instructions included, everything said to set up an account through kobo - which is what I presume you did, hence the two accounts message.

Try downloading the epub for kobo books instead of syncing, and then try a trial sync of a free whitcoulls book "bought" using the Whitcoulls.co.nz website - not the app.

I am out for the day, but happy to help you with this later.

If it is any consolation - I agree with you, the device is fantastic, the app less so. I hardly use it - I use calibre and ADE almost exclusively - especially since ebook pricing at kobo and whitcoulls is so high compared to amazon and other retailers.

Personally I don't think you'll miss much not using the app - unless you really want to take notes and share to Facebook (and I think these features may be coming soon to side loaded books anyway)
