Definitely does not have the soft touch finish. I tried one and prefer the regular v2, it feels much better in the hand with the soft touch finish. The silver is also a little bit shiny which could make it less comfortable for reading in a sunny environment. I also could not get any of the hacks such as the fullscreen ipdf to work, although shell access appeared to download and install fine.
