A) Same here, the screen doesn't really look Pearl to my eyes, at least not the background. I can compare a 505 and K3 to the 350, and find the K3 has a lighter background, and is easier to read. The 505 text appears a bit lighter than the 350's, not sure about the background--sometimes the 350 looks grayer and the 505 creamier, other times they look similar. I was really disappointed about the background color when I first got it. Someone with two 350s (or maybe 650s?) commented that one was noticeably brighter than the other.
B) I don't want to investigate this aspect too much as it might begin to bother me. But yes, it seems to flash a darker black or something.
As to the charger, micro USB is now the standard. So you'll appreciate it going forward. If you keep it, that is. Mostly all new cellphones and gadgets have this micro USB connector.
Overall, though, I like mine a lot, mostly because of its small size and portability. I can like it more because it's not my only reader, but rather a more portable adjunct to my 6" readers. If I had to have just one reader, I don't know. I like also that it reads PDFs better than the 505 or K3.

I compared a 350 and a t1 at best buy a couple weeks ago and the 350 looked lighter than the t1. Both were set on original contrast. It could have been the lighting, shadows whatever. They were about 2 feet from each other. The 350 I got in the mail looks like just about everyone I have seen. It has a grey background. Far as I know all of them do. Look at some reviews or unboxing vids on youtube and compare yours to them. As for flashing. Looks about the same to me. But I have never even given the flashing much thought. I know that all ereaders have it and I accept it. Never has bothered me in the least. In fact the newer reader that have limited flashing have more ghosting, so I actually want a reader with flashing every page or at least the option to change it.
I wouldnt fret too much though. If its clear and readable that should be all that matters.
