I never saw his face, but I can tell quite about about him by his choice of equipment...
He was riding a Kawasaki 'Ninja,' one of the 'superbikes' that most US insurers won't insure to anyone under 25 years old. That bike's only purpose in life is to go fast. Nothing else. Certainly not comfortable to ride for more than an hour at a time. The bike had racing tires on it with just enough tread not to constitute racing slicks and be street legal. He had aftermarket exhaust pipes, tuned loud. In other words, a race bike.
He was wearing a full suit of racing leathers, obviously well broken in... BUT... the skid pads on his knees were unscratched. The skid pads on his boots were unscratched... This means he NEVER got up to racing speeds, never actually made a racing turn hanging off the side of his bike. He only wanted to look the part while staying at slower speeds. He was wearing an open face helmet with a dark face shield. NO RACER WOULD EVER WEAR AN OPEN FACE HELMET!
So he revved his engine at stop lights, jerking forward an inch or two each time. He made jackrabbit starts on the green. He was not a cautious rider. He was a wannabe racer, a poseur. I'll guess he was in his late teens or early 20's but I really don't know. All I know is that he paid the ultimate price for his showing off.
