You need to find out why those two need the market to run.
One reason might be that they have 'automatic check for updates' or some such turned on and therefore halt - stop working - when they can't find the market. There may be a setting that will allow you to turn that off. There may also be a problem if you do manage to install market access and they download updates that are not compatible with our version of Android 2.2 and/or the hardware.
