upgrading
going with the latest fad
becoming disenchanted with this or that
getting back to the basics
selling because (s)he has too many units

I just sold two of my PRS-500s here, so I fall under that last listing.

Again, I'm sorry for the accident that resulted in your Reader getting a cracked screen, but I'm confident you'll soon find a replacement unit here and then you'll have your older unit as a source for parts.

I just saw that a member named tribble has a "broken Sony 500." I don't know what is broken. You might want to look him up and make an enquiry.
