Yes, pinch to zoom works nicely. I've found the screen sometimes doesn't seem to respond, though.

Turns out you have to go into Settings and enable download of apps from outside the Google Android Market. Funny, really, as the Google Android Market isn't even accessible on it
Apps normally download very quickly, assuming you have a reasonable Wifi connection.
