However, will be a closed device with a closed market. That can be good or bad, depending of what you need.

I would say, for someone expecting a cheap tablet, with good content and good customer support, is an awesome alternative. No idea how reliable or good the device will be, but Amazon's customer support has a very good reputation.

For true Magazine experience or full Android market access though, this is not a good device, in my opinion. 7' is kind of small. I know it, because had a Galaxy Tab, but the main difference is or was, had 3G connection. That makes a huge difference. Fire will be wifi only.

I'm still on the fence for a Kindle touch, but I will keep my iPad2. I prefer the 10" size for tablets and the Kindle fire does not meet such personal requirement. My Galaxy SII is portable enough for other Android needs.
