Keep in mind, that many people (myself included) consider the Fire DOA because it doesn't have expandable storage. A card slot easily trumps a 1.0GHz dual-core CPU.

But since these tablet readers are aimed at average non-techies, the ecosystem will be the deciding factor and not the hardware. Amazon or B&N?

As it stands, I'm still very happy with my rooted NC1. Upgrading to NC2 will depend on features and price.
