English doesn't really have a word equivalent to the German Schadenfreude. We know the feeling but we have to use a few words to describe it: Pleasure felt from other people's misfortune, malicious gloating
Katzenjammer (cats yammering), mentioned in another thread, can also be used to describe a hangover. Does anyone remember the cartoon "The Katzenjammer Kids"?
