I think it is a good idea to take "reviews" on Amazon with a grain of salt. I scan a few of the negatives to see if it is a political diatribe (conservatives all trashing a liberal book, liberals all trashing a conservative book) or people with an axe to grind (cost of book, or something like this).

It is very annoying when this happens as it cheapens all the reviews and may result in lost sales.
I particularly don't put any faith in the negative reviews at all (nor the glowing ones for that matter) but read them to see if it sounds like a book I'd enjoy.
