I have yet to have come across an ereader that handles PDF in the manner that those who have PDF would like. It seems to be that there might be higher expectations than what these ereaders can produce. As stated earlier, these ereaders were not designed for PDF functionality as PDF, as stated, is not an ebook format. I see you have a 950 that you said you were happy with. If the T1 doesn't give you what you want, you could go back to using the 950.
As you have said, the kindle did not provide what you needed. I doubt if the nook or kobo would either. You indeed might have to look to larger tablets to do what you need.
